What is microdermabrasion?
Microdermabrasion, for those of you who don’t know can be described as a non surgical cosmetic procedure where skin is exfoliated without the use of chemicals or lasers usually on the face and body.
What are the benefits of microdermabrasion?
As dead skin cells are removed during the microdermabrasion treatment the main benefit of it is youthful looking skin which is smoother and fresher in appearance.
Microdermabrasion is usually used on: -
- Sun damaged skin
- Fine lines
- Wrinkles
- Acne prone skin
- Blackheads
- Whiteheads
- Superficial age spots
- Hyperpigmentation
- Oily skin
- Dry skin
- Patchy skin
So if you suffer with any of the above mentioned skin problems microdermabrasion could be the answer.
What happens during a microdermabrasion treatment?
During the microdermabrasion treatment dead skin is partially or completely removed by light abrasion. A handheld device with medical grade crystals is moved over the problematic skin to exfoliate the top layer of skin. The crystals which are deposited during the microdermabrasion treatment are vacuumed away immediately taking with them the top layer of skin.
