For those of you who don't know a microcurrent facial is a non invasive treatment that is used to help improve existing signs and facial ageing and prevent future signs of facial aging appearing including fine lines and wrinkles as well as the loss of tone and flexibility in the face.

The first ever microcurrent facial was used in the medical field for the rehabilitation of facial weakness which had occurred as a result of Bell's Palsy or a stroke. Due to the results achieved by the microcurrent facial the equipment was adapted so that it is now used in salons.

Although the most popular microcurrent treatment is a microcurrent facial the microcurrent machine doesn't just have to be used on the face, it can be used on numerous parts of the body including stomach, breasts and buttocks to help retrain the muscles and lift and reshape the contours.

How Does a Microcurrent Facial Work?

As you probably already know when the body ages many systems gradually function less effectively. When it comes to ageing it has been discovered that the natural electrical impulses that carry messages from the brain to the muscles become less effective and the muscles fibres loose their natural tension which means they gradually become more flaccid over time.

The reduction in muscle support combined with negative changes in the skin tissue including reduced production of collagen and elastin which give the skin its structure and flexibility cause the production of wrinkles and loss of contour so this is where a microcurrent facial can correct the signs of ageing.
